Wuya was an evil Heylin witch and the most powerful being in the universe. She conquered the world 1,500 years ago, but was defeated in the first Xiaolin Showdown by the legendary Grand Master Dashi and trapped in a wooden Puzzle Box. However, many years later she was released by Jack Spicer. XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN follows the adventures of young warrior monks-in-training as they search the globe for ancient artifacts that hold both good and evil supernatural powers. Tune in as a 40-foot dragon leads the warriors in a fight against an evil boy genius and his robot army seeking to harness the artifacts’ powers for world domination.
It was produced by ActionFliks Media Corporation in collaboration with the French studio. Due to some elements of the original show had to be changed. The show aired for twenty episodes from August 26, 2013 to March 6, 2014 on, leaving the last six episodes unaired in the United States until July 1, 2015, when Chronicles was made available to watch on.In a newsletter published on July 25, 2015, creator Christy Hui announced that Chronicles will not continue with a second season and will be a standalone series. However, she stated that there will be a new Xiaolin project that will continue in a format to that of Showdown. The show features new character designs and a slightly altered logo for the show. With the exception of (Omi, Ping Pong) and (Kimiko in Chronicles only, Katnappe, Willow), the original's voice crew was replaced due to the show using a Canadian cast.

Through the events of the show's pilot, the monks learn that Willow is evil, and is the apprentice to the formidable Heylin warrior Chase Young. She and Chase destroy the temple and take all the Shen Gong Wu. With their temple destroyed, the monks must search for a new temple, while still trying to collect all the Shen Gong Wu and protecting the world from the likes of Chase Young and the villainous Jack Spicer.Characters.
